Department 56 Christmas in the City Series – “American Diner”. A stunning piece from one of Department 56’s most beloved series – and this one is in pristine condition, fully working, and completely intact. Porcelain lighted building. Original adapter cord (tested, works perfectly). Original styrofoam insert. Original outer box/sleeve. This piece is in excellent condition – no chips, no cracks, no paint loss. The interior illuminated scene lights up beautifully. Everything is as it should be. This was clearly well cared for. The American Diner features an illuminated interior scene with diners at booths, a classic red and white striped awning, holiday garland and wreaths, and working street lamps. Measures approximately 10-1/4″ L x 5″ W x 4-1/2 H. Retired pieces like this one are no longer in production – once they’re gone, they’re gone.
