The bakery measures approx. 9 1/2 inches high x 5 inches long x 5 inches wide. It is in mint condition. It had never been displayed. I removed to examine and take pictures. The sign and little lamps for the side of the building are still sealed and I have left them that way. The detail is great. It is a great piece that is hard to find for your Christmas In The City display. It is a grand piece that will stand out in your display. 56 collector and it has been stored in a smoke free home. It comes in it’s original Styrofoam box, the paper sleeve is clean it does have some wear on the edges from storage. Check out my other auctions for more great Dept. 56 and other items. From Department 56’s Christmas In The City collection, Jambalaya Café has become one of the most sought after buildings in recent years. It’s a three-story, New Orleans-style brick building where French Quarter cuisine is served. Numerous design elements, including intricate ironwork, baskets, support posts, potted tree and sign, are all VERY fragile. It is our opinion that no other building in the entire Department 56 line has this many parts of the building that can easily be damaged. Also it’s our opinion that a significant number of Jambalaya Cafés have been damaged over the years and not many in existence that are in perfect shape. This building has NEVER been removed from the box. Please take care to only handle by the solid porcelain sections of the building. The box is in “almost new” shape with very minor shelf wear. This resulted in “crimping” of some of the edges on the top and bottom of the box, as well as, a 3/4 tear to the top back of the sleeve. (Can be easily taped from the inside of the sleeve). We appreciate being contacted for ANY questions, comments or concerns. Our packing team places each collectible box under UV light for 10 minutes per exposed surface, which has been shown to eradicate “germs” on the surface. Specific virus names cannot be listed here per policy (apparently); however, you know which one we are targeting. This process does not harm your collectible nor change the printing on the box. The light cord was never used & the 3 hanging green lamps were never used, still stapled in plastic bag (view 3rd photo). The building & sign are in excellent condition.
