Department 56 Christmas In The City collection is one of the most popular Dept 56 Christmas villages. Bottom is inscribed with Sutton Place Rowhouse. Earliest pieces have grates in attic windows, and signs are known to be placed upside down. It’s not unusual for this piece to have concave walls; straight walls are very rare. Many collectors have multiples of this building and put them in a row for a realistic Manhattan scene. We recently received almost the entire Christmas in the City, Alpine Village and Disney Parks Village series from a former dealer and serious collector who took great pride in her collection.
