Dept 56 Christmas in the City Village EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. This is the empire state building for the Department 56 collection. The building top lights up and changes color by the press of a button. Tested the top of the tower and it does change color. Blue light appears to be lighter than the green or red colors. Building appears in good condition. Only comes with three flags. (Believe it originally had four). The box is worn on the edges. Lights on the sides of the building work as well. The tower is large, about two feet tall. It is rumored to be the tallest building made by Department 56 but has not been confirmed. Box is included but has wear and some tears. Introduced 2003 and retired in December 2005. It features several holiday lighting effects, including blueish/white, green and red colors in detachable top section that operate each color on or off on a 4 position pushbutton switch. There are 2 large white interior building bulbs and 8 yellow spotlights located around the top part of the building and shine up to illuminate the exterior.
